It’s time for another installment of behind the scenes covering my July food shots. I personally like to see how other bloggers take their shots. Whether it be the background, props or food styling there is always something that I want to try and remember for the future. I usually take this shot after I take all the other photos so I’m still trying to remember to take them.
This month I experimented with different backgrounds and colors. Lately I’ve been on an all white trend but sometimes I like to switch it up depending on the food that I am shooting. Most of these photos from July were shot outside on a stool that is located on my patio. I use multiple white boards for backgrounds and to help bounce the light. The textured backgrounds that I used this month are tile samples from Lowes or Home Depot. They range from about $2-4 dollars each and are very easy to clean. When I’m using a plain white background the food and props are sitting on parchment paper. I typically place 2 to 3 sheets down and then just throw it away after I use it. Costco has a huge roll of parchment paper and it has lasted me for months.
Don’t forget to check out the link below each photo to see the finished LIVE shot.

One thing for sure, there is a lot of work and detail that goes into this.
