Pinterest has literally taken off in our society. It makes me want to sew my on clothes, fix things in our home, build crafty projects, throw extravagant dinner parties and cook food that I constantly drool over. I have pinned and pinned thinking I am going to make something when in all reality I just keep pinning but nothing comes of it.
Until now….
This past weekend I decided that I was finally going to make a sugar scrub because I see so many circling the web, and I needed to exfoliate before I apply some self tanner. At first I thought it would just be the plain jane of sugar scrubs by adding vanilla. Low and behold I stepped this one up a notch by adding rosemary. I love the way rosemary smells and it actually is paired quite well with vanilla. My new favorite oil is coconut oil and I like how it keeps your skin smooth after you use this scrub. I was even able to use it on my face and I didn’t break out at all. Best of all it only took 5 minutes of my time to make and I already had the ingredients in my kitchen.
In a bowl combine the sugars and coconut oil. Mix with a spoon until everything is well mixed.
Slice a vanilla bean down the center and scoop out all the seeds and place the bean and seeds into the mixture. Add a splash of vanilla and rosemary to the mix. Stir everything and place in air tight container.

Yes you should! You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry!
I’ve been interested in sugar scrubs, too. I bet yours smells amazing!
The rosemary went really well with the smell of vanilla.
What a fabulous idea!
Thanks Claire!
I love homemade beauty treatments and this looks so good! It would make a great gift!
Thanks Georgia!
I love doing this, too, and will often use leftover kosher salt, sunflower oil and culinary lavender. Beautiful photographs!
Ohhh I like that combination.
Oh my gosh – it’s like I can smell it through the computer screen!! I love making my own scrubs – I’ve never made it with coconut oil though! Totally making this love. Brilliant!
It’s so much cheaper than the store brand and you can make so many different combinations. I really liked the coconut oil in this scrub.
