Every once in a while, you’re able to create a dish that is so savory the whole family loves it. Quiche Lorraine has many flavors like bacon, Gruyere, and nutmeg that help pull everything together. You’ve never had a quiche quite like this before! See how Quiche Lorraine can change up your eating habits in a good way!
In my experience, quiche is one of the most versatile dishes you can make in your kitchen. Let’s not forget that quiche can be made for any meal of the day. If you want to make it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – go for it. You can even make a quiche for brunch.
The best way to describe how Quiche Lorraine tastes would be to compare it to something that is light and fluffy. The crust is flaky when you bite into it. Although, the center of a quiche is anything but light and fluffy. The center is full of deliciousness that you can’t get in any other dish! All of it mixed together is something you can’t explain; you just have to taste it for yourself.
I want to walk you through how to make this dish! If you’ve never made a quiche before, then you’re in for a pleasant surprise. It’s actually quite simple. Don’t be intimidated by cooking something like this because once you make it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
I want to take a moment and expand on some of those ingredients and why I use them in this quiche.
Bacon – When it comes to bacon, it’s truly a favorite in our household. I like to grab it when it’s on sale and use it on dishes like this. The flavor of bacon is so welcomed in this dish. While I like eating bacon plain, I do think adding it to quiche is one of my favorite things ever.
Cheese – The true flavor and hero of this dish is the cheese. Whether you choose Gruyere or a Sharp White Cheddar, it feels fancy! Using cheese in my recipes helps bring culture and flavor to original dishes.
Pie Crust – I have made Quiche Lorraine several different times. In some moments of making this dish, I may have had more time than others. I truly love that you can buy a store-bought crust for this dish, or you can make your own. If you have more time and want to add a special touch to it, then using a homemade pie crust may be the way to go for you.
I love that you can also use sharp white cheddar cheese! This cheese will also bring a ton of flavor to your quiche. Don’t forget that the cheese needs to be shredded.
