Do you ever look at something in the grocery store or restaurant and think to yourself, I can do that. The food squeeze packets are taking over. Seriously in the next year or so there will be steak, pizza and burger packets that you can eat by a squeeze packet. I can’t hate on these packets because we currently have some go-go squeeze applesauce in the cupboard at the moment.
My daughter loves her applesauce. In fact she would eat it all day long if we allowed her too. A couple weeks ago I went to Michigan to check out some apple orchards and I came home with some great honey crisp apples. We had run out of applesauce while I was away so that got me to thinking about making my own. You can even buy the empty squeeze packets now and stuff them with your own concoctions.
Slow cooker applesauce was relatively easy and it’s nice to have it on hand for a snack, breakfast or a side dish. Next time I would like to include some other fruits for a different mixture and taste. Have a friend who loves applesauce or a parent who would love some extra food for baby snack time? This applesauce would be perfect as a gift. All you have to do is tie a little piece of string around the top along with a card that says homemade applesauce and voila.
Now don’t let those apples go bad that are sitting on your counter, just put them in the slow cooker for some homemade applesauce. Don’t have a slow cooker? Enter my giveaway for a chance to win one.
Add all ingredients to the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3 hours; stir occasionally.
Place the mixture in a blender or food processor and blend until you get a smooth consistency. Pour into glass jars or an air-tight container.

What a delicious way to knock off another processed food. Your apple sauce looks so good with so much less sugar than the store bought ones.
I’ve never seen such small, cute glass jars before. Adorable! These would make perfect holiday gifts!!
Ok your photos are gorgeous!! Glad you posted this. I’ve always wanted to make applesauce like this, my daughter and I will have fun doing it! Looks delicious.

I love slow cooker apple and pear sauce. Yummy! Love how the house smells so good.
That’s hilarious because just the other day, I was at the grocery store and thinking about how insane it was that there are so many little food squeeze packets! I would so much rather have your delicious-looking applesauce!
This is just the best!! Perfect for all of the Michigan apples right now!
Okay so you are the cutest! I make slow cooker applesauce every Fall but I never even thought to package it up individually! Funny story: After coming home from the hospital with my son a family brought us a home-cooked meal later that week and it included a can of homemade applesauce. Well I totally busted the lid trying to open it and glass shattered all over it. In my hormonal state I cried for 20 minutes over that stupid applesauce! OH THE HUMANITY!
I make homemade applesauce all the time. This way looks like a snap.
Thanx—-
Your apple sauce looks ways better than the mess they tried to feed you in the supermarket. Great post
