Brrrr…. it got cold again in Texas. One day it’s 80 degrees and then the next day it is in the 50s. It was also very windy last night and the power kept going off and on. It normally wouldn’t bother me but when you have 2 fans going in your room it can get real quiet real fast. I love the sound of a fan and it definitely helps put me to sleep.
No fan is basically no sleep for me.
I will say that I was really hoping for a White Christmas this year, but the forecast is just showing rain. Not quite what I had in mind but I’ll take it.
Since I did wake up to a cold, windy day I decided to make myself some Hot Chocolate. I can’t even tell you the last time I even had hot chocolate at home. It was probably at a football game in college where I treated myself to a hot chocolate drink.
Wow that really has been a while. With it being so close to Christmas I had to add a little peppermint flavor making it peppermint hot chocolate.
ENJOY!
Add cream, sugar, milk and vanilla to a small sauce pan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Remove from the heat and add cocoa, morsels and peppermint to the saucepan.
Whisk until everything is melted and smooth.
Pour into mugs and top with marshmallows and a candy cane.

I’m the same way when it comes to fans! I have to have a fan to sleep well. My husband thinks I’m weird!
Love this hot chocolate! I think we’ll have to try this for Christmas morning!
Perfect to warm up with. This sounds so good!
“No fan, no sleep” <—- same here. We can't sleep without it.
This hot chocolate is just what I need after a long day of shopping..
I love this! I’m making these for my girls next week when they’re off from school… we adore hot cocoa {and peppermint!} 🙂 Merry Christmas Meagan
