I am a total weather nerd…it just fascinates me! We’ve had some wonky stuff up north in Minnesota, too….like last year it was the COLDEST and SNOWIEST winter since the 50s….Both in the same year, what the whattttt?! I envy your warmth, though 😀 PS: Fab recipe- I’m totally ready for soup!!!!

For the past week I’ve been making stews and hearty soups for dinner. This is one I haven’t tried, but my kids would love it!

  8. Susan says:

That is a crazy amount of rain in such a short period. I would definitely crave this soup if it was raining like that because there is no way you’d get me out of the house!

  9. This soup is perfect for a cool, rainy fall day. We have been in the 80’s and sunny here lately, I can’t wait for some cooler weather. I am ready for soups and homemade bread!

I always get envious of folks who live in Texas. I’m a horse girl, so I envision wide open fields, galloping around with nothing but space. I live in a small town but we keep the horse nearby just on the outskirts at a barn in the county. It’s a lot of corn fields. Not very picturesque. Or fun to ride in.

I love this soup. I can see why you wanted to make it. I don’t use enough orzo. I need to work on that.

  11. We’ve had so much rain in Denver this year and we’ve loved every drop. Our high plains desert climate had turned into a lush treat. Great looking soup, thanks for sharing the recipe.

Meal planning for the week and came across this, from your description of West Texas I knew you must have been talking about Lubbock! I’m from a suburb of Houston and am a junior here in Lubbock at Texas Tech, so great to see a wonderful blog from little ole’ Lubbock! Just wanted to say hello 🙂

      Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for leaving a comment! My husband and I moved here from Houston two years ago. He grew up here and I’ve got a lot of family here as well. Plus I went to Tech a couple years ago. 🙂
