Let these Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites be the star of the dessert table for the upcoming holidays.
In a few short days, we will be traveling to my parent’s house for Thanksgiving. We decided to divide up the meal responsibilities this year to help out my parents with the actual meal. I’ve been given the desserts! Typically, people give me bread, meat, appetizers or the green bean casserole. Not this year because my sister actually trusted me in the baking department.
I’ll be bringing along a traditional pecan pie along with these Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites.
Chocolate is something that needs to be on EVERY SINGLE dessert table in my opinion. Whether it’s Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving or Valentine’s Day there is always a need for a chocolate dessert. These Mini Chocolate Chess Pie Bites are perfect if you are wanting a small dessert/sampling or crave something larger. Feel free to try just one or five, either way you’ll be satisfied with this dessert if you save room.
You don’t even have to fret with the pie crust or rolling of any dough. I used Athen’s mini phyllo shells for the base and then made a small batch of chocolate chess pie filling. You can top it off with whipped cream or leave them just as they are straight out of the oven.

Now it’s time to get back in the kitchen to whip up more of these little bites since we ate our test ones. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break with your loved ones.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a bowl whisk the sugar, cocoa powder and butter. Then add eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla, flour. Beat with a handheld mixer until everything is well mixed.
Place Athens Mini Fillo Shells on a baking sheet. Spoon in the mixture filling the shells ¾ full. Bake in the oven 10 minutes. Allow to cool before eating.
Optional: top with whipped cream

These are so cute! And I agree that chocolate in some way, shape, or form, is pretty necessary… Especially at celebratory dinners!
