How is it already August? I could have sworn we just declared it as summer and we are venturing towards the end as we speak. Since I’m no longer is school, summer is about the weekends and weeknights. I wish it were more play instead of work during the weekdays. Instead of “spring break” or “fall break” I think we should get a summer break and it’s geared towards grownups. You get to pick your week to “shake things up” and relax before going back in for your 8-5 job.
Who is with me?
Starbucks is running a “shaking” up your summer campaign with Starbucks Teavana® Shaken Iced Teas. Now Starbucks is mainly known for their tall, grande, venti or trenta coffees. If you’re not getting a black coffee then mochas or Frappuccinos® are next on your list. Let’s not think about the hot steaming coffee and concentrate on something more refreshing like their Teavana® Shaken Iced Teas. I can honestly say that I’ve had 3 in the past week and I’m blaming it on recipe development. I’m allowed to use that excuse right?
This past weekend we loaded up the family and headed to our local Starbucks just around the corner. I was going to get the family to try ALL of their flavors and it was also another excuse for me to buy another round of their Teavana® teas.
You get to pick between:
After sipping on the drinks and eating some freshly warmed cookies we were headed back home to play outside. It was just the refreshing drink we ALL needed before heading outdoors to 100+ degree temperatures.
Now when I’m cooling off with a drink in the summer I usually like to have a little something extra with it. In this case I’m talking about these easy blackberry mojito tea truffles.
Talk about shaking things up with this dessert paired with the drink. These two are a match made in tea heaven. Now I’m off to the park with my family to go make the most of my summer.
Bring the whipping cream to a simmer in a double boiler. Stir in the rum, chocolate, tea and vanilla. Transfer the mixture to a glass bowl and chill for 2 hours. Remove and scoop into small balls. Roll the ball between your palms to smooth out and then roll in powdered sugar. Place in refrigerator until ready to serve. Note: Tea can be made with Teavana® blackberry mojito tea or with Starbucks Teavana® Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade™ Please leave a comment on the blog or share a photo on InstagramBlackberry mojito tea truffle
