It may be cold outside but that does not stop me from enjoying a nice sandwich or salad. I love a good sandwich that has all my favorite toppings and is slathered with a good sauce.
When I got the opportunity to review Hidden Valley’s Sandwich Spreads, me being thrilled would be an understatement. I already love hidden valley ranch and believe it’s the best ranch dressing out there. Yes, I just said that and I mean it. I can eat ranch on salads, pizza, hamburgers, in dips and now I have these spreads to include them on sandwiches.
Hidden Valley has four different options to chose from:
I have a hankering for spicy things, so the spicy chipotle pepper spread immediately caught my attention. After sampling the dip I knew I wanted to pair it with pesto and make a caprese sandwich. This sandwich needed to be taken up a notch by adding peppered bacon slices.
Bacon really needs to be added to all sandwiches! (sorry if you don’t like bacon but that is just my opinion) This sandwich has a little bit of heat going on with the chipotle spread but it goes well with the basil pesto. If you can’t take the heat then get out of the kitchen — just kidding but I would just recommend a different spread.
Quick Fact about the spread from Hidden Valley!
You can find these great spreads in your local grocery store and I promise you will not want to pass these ups the next time you are there.
Cut the roll in half and spread the spicy chipotle pepper on the bottom side. Place the mozzarella on next followed by the slice of tomato. Put the bacon on next and then spread the basil pesto on the top side of the roll. Place the top on the sandwich and place on a panini press or hot skillet. Warm the sandwich until cheese has slightly melted approximately 4 minutes.
