I just so happen to be sharing these Steak and Hummus Pita Bites on National Hummus Day. I don’t participate much on National food holidays but Sabra hummus just happens to be one of my favorite food products.
My kids love to get home from school and immediately tell me that they are starving. How is it so when they just ate a snack at school. It happens every day so I have them covered with lots of fruits and vegetables for a little snack before dinner. These Steak and Hummus Pita Bites can be served on skewers for the ultimate appetizer dish or served as a main meal.
Olivia is three years old, and will tell everyone that she meets that steak is her favorite food. The whole time I was prepping and cooking this meal she was standing by my side just begging for a little bite. If I pulled the camera away for these shots you would see a little girl drooling for a skewer loaded with food.
This is one of those meals where we cleared the table with empty plates all around. We went through a whole tub of Sabra’s Rosemary and Sea Salt Hummus along with all the vegetables and steak. I bet if I had doubled the recipe we would have gobbled all of that up as well.
I highly recommend sharing these tasty and healthy steak and hummus pita bites with your family!
Place chopped steak along with Worcestershire sauce, lemon pepper and garlic salt into a bowl. Using your hands mix everything well and then place into a skillet over medium/high heat. Cook for 6 minutes stirring occasionally and then remove from heat.
Using a small biscuit cutter or knife cut out small circles in the pita bread. Warm in the microwave for 15 seconds.
Stick the skewer through the tomato, steak and then place a little bit of hummus on top of the cucumber slice. Slide the skewer through the cucumber and the pita bread.
