Do you ever just sit and scroll through Pinterest just looking at dream homes and the gourmet kitchens that come with them? I have a board just for my one-day dream kitchen and pantry, and I’m hoping that one day it “will” become a reality. I’m really not asking for much, but since my job consists of mostly kitchen work, it would be nice to have a ton of space and great open windows for natural lighting.
A girl can dream right?
Frigidaire has teamed up with Lowe’s for the launch of their new professional-grade appliances. The Frigidaire Professional® Collection has everything I could hope and dream for in a kitchen. I was so inspired that I decided to create my own kitchen vision board using their new line. With Frigidaire Professional®, you get reliable, heavy duty, professional-grade stainless steel appliances that are compatible with standard-sized spaces so they can easily fit into existing kitchens. This means I can give my kitchen a fresh new look in just one weekend without the full remodel. This line allows you to get the products you want for a professional look but without the professionals installing it. The appliances fit in regular kitchen spaces so no need to measure each and every space.
Now some people veer away from stainless steel because of fingerprints and how it can show everything. However, it has such a classic look to it that I had to pick all stainless steel appliances. The Frigidaire Professional line boasts that their stainless steel appliances are smudge proof. That’s a win-win in my kitchen.
My new kitchen would need to be all white and yes that includes the walls and cabinets. For the past several years I’ve had different colors and everything just makes my kitchen look yellow or have a yellow tint to it. Then it’s all about the stainless steel French Door refrigerator, gas range (which is a must), and dishwasher.
The backsplash would be a nice stone color and it would be paired nicely with a white granite countertop with preferably black speckles. Last but not least is the lighting, which would match the rest of the appliances with the stainless steel look.
Today I made you this peach galette in hopes that I would soon be baking it in a new range with PowerPlus® True Convection that offers provides more even baking. Even baking means yummy galettes and happy visitors.
Add 1 cup flour, butter and salt to a large bowl. Using a dough blender mix the dough forming large chunks. In another bowl whisk the egg, water and vanilla. Pour into flour mixture. Using your hands start to knead the dough for about 3-4 minutes. Add the remaining ⅓ cup flour to the mixture. Make into a ball shape and then flatten to form a circular shape. Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
Remove from refrigerator and place on lightly floured work surface. Roll out with a rolling pin creating a 10-inch circle. Place the dough on a non-stick baking sheet.
For the filling
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In a bowl combine water, sugar and 1 tablespoon of light brown sugar. Toss in the peach slices. Using a wooden spoon or your hands thoroughly mix the fruit with the sugar and water mixture. Starting with one fruit slice at a time start to make columns, leaving an inch border around the edge of the dough. Use all slices even if you have to layer them around the columns. Slightly fold up the edge of the dough to secure the fruit in place.
Brush the crust with olive oil and bake in the oven for 35 minutes. Allow to cool and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
