The other day I mentioned how obsessed I am with Pinterest. There are so many things out there to look at. A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a pretzel recipe and the picture looked amazing.
I took off yesterday to start the long process of getting my named changed and I actually finished earlier than expected. So, I decided to surprise Shaun with an afternoon snack when he got home from work. This recipe was super easy especially if you have a bread machine. I used only about half the dough since there were only two of us eating these treats and decided to save the rest to use as pizza dough. That post will come later on. If you love pretzels then this is the recipe for you. The site I got it off of is Dine and Dish and she found the recipe at all recipes.
Ingredients:
1 1/8 cups water
3 cups all purpose flour
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
2 qts water
1/2 cup baking soda
salt melted butter
Preparation:
In bread machine add water, flour, sugar, and then the yeast
Set it on the dough setting and after 5 minutes look to see if the dough needs 2-3 more Tbsp of flour if needed
Remove dough once the dough setting is finished and place on floured surface
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Bring 2 qts of water and baking soda to a boil
Tear off 1 inch size pieces and roll into balls
Drop 2-3 balls into the water at a time for 15 seconds and then place on paper towel
Place all balls onto greased baking sheet and cook 8-10 minutes or until golden brown
Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with salt
I wish I had a bread machine. Guess my dough hook on my kitchenaid can suffice for now! Weird too how you and A Cozy Kitchen posted pretzel bites within a day of each other! Guess that’s a sign to make them for the weekend.
Just made these and they came out amazing! Thanks for sharing. I’m going to blog about it too! I love how you got it from a blog who got it from allrecipes!
I’m new to pintrest but I already see the compulsion building 🙂 These look great! We used to make stuffed pretzels all the time, but I haven’t recently. This reminded me that I need to make some more. Great photo!
Pinterest….my latest obsession too. Ugh. But, yes, then you find nuggets like this and that’s what makes the hours and hours worth while, right? Right?
