Now don’t get me wrong, I do love a good traditional mac and cheese dish like my grandmother used to make. ut this mac & cheese with brisket……it’s a game changer.
This dish is packed with flavor from the green chilies and added crunch from the toasted panko bread crumbs, and you can’t forget the brisket that is tossed in a creamy Texas BBQ sauce. Tips On Making This Dish:
- Buy “good” brisket. I recommend either making your own and then save a pound for this recipe or head to the nearest BBQ joint and load up! You can’t have too much BBQ in the house.
- If given the option, buy large or jumbo size elbow noodles.
- Cook the pasta in salted water.
- Don’t walk away when directions ask for whisking the butter, flour, and milk. You will need to whisk the mixture continuously, so it doesn’t burn or stick to the bottom of the pan.
- You don’t have to use all the panko bread crumbs. Make sure the dish is covered, but some may remain.
