It was over 3 years ago that I started A Zesty Bite. There are so many family favorites that I decided to bring back this chicken tortilla soup and update some really awful photos. It’s funny how a good camera can make the recipe look entirely different from when you first made the recipe. I mean its almost embarrassing to look back at my old photos but I have left them up along with the recipes. By no means are they bad recipes its just the photo doesn’t make it quite as appetizing.
Do photos change how you view or make your food choices? We live in such a visual world that I know I like to see pretty pictures. I’ll totally admit that I sometimes judge a book by its cover.
This year I hope to bring back some family favorites as well as introduce you to some that I’ve never blogged about on the website. Just good ole’ easy comfort food that totally feeds your soul. I will also try to experiment with new foods and flavors.
What is the one type of food that you would like to see more of on this blog? Is it savory, sweet, healthy, desserts, beverages, casseroles, crockpot or just good family recipes?
Now I hope you all are staying warm in this frigid weather. Warm up with this bowl of chicken tortilla soup.

On low heat add the oil and sauté the onions. Cook for 8 minutes and then add garlic. Move to high heat and add green chilies, cilantro, tomatoes, broth, cumin, sugar, and lime juice. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer for 45 minutes.
Add the cooked chicken and cook for an additional 15 minutes. Top with tortilla chips, cilantro and cheese.

I love tortilla soup, this looks delicious.
YUM!! Perfect for these cold days! And as for what kind of food I want to see more of…I’m not a picky eater, so I’ll take it all LOL
Mmmm one of my favs!
Dude, love me some tortilla soup! I’m thinking I need to dive in head first:)
Yum! This sounds great…I love using rotisserie chickens! So easy!
I physically cringe when I look back at some of my old photos. And I probably will do the same someday when I look back on my current ones 🙂 Tasty soup- pinned!
Haha I agree. In a year I will look and say this photo is awful!
I like a creamy tortilla soup but I actually think this would be awesome too–a nice, lighter option. Great flavors!
I’m obsessed with chicken tortilla soup – I ate it all last week! This looks delicious, your photos are gorgeous!
I made this for dinner two nights ago. It was amazing! Will definitely be making it again and again. Passed the recipe on to two friends who were over while I started making it. The house smelled wonderful! Thank you.
Thanks so much for letting me know you enjoyed the recipe. It’s so easy but is nice to have on hand when the weather is cold.

Sometimes the city’s fast pace makes you want to break away from routine and try something different. For me, that curiosity led to exploring the BDSM side of Los Angeles. I needed a trustworthy guide, and https://www.vibe-city.com/bdsm-ca-los-angeles provided just that. It showed me this world isn’t only about extremes, but about safe boundaries, mutual respect, and personal growth.
This chicken tortilla soup has been hitting the spot during these chilly evenings. Sautéed the onions and garlic low and slow, tossed in the green chiles, tomatoes, broth, cumin, and lime—let it simmer while I handled evening chaos. Shredded rotisserie chicken went in last, and topping with crushed tortilla chips, cheese, and extra cilantro made it feel special without much effort. The family loved the cozy flavors and asked for it again soon. On busy mornings I pair it with something warm and grounding like MUD\WTR; their reviews on https://mud-wtr.pissedconsumer.com/review.html highlight solid taste when delivery works smoothly, which keeps me reaching for it instead of coffee overload.
