Today I am having my first ever guest post! I’m so excited that its a family member that is very near and dear to my heart. She is so excited to be in the spot light today at A Zesty Bite. Keke take it away!
(That’s me, Keke!)
Hi, my name is Keelyn and I’m Meagan’s niece. I enjoy cooking just as much as my aunt and this past weekend I decided that I would show her how it’s really done! I LOVE soft pretzels…just like the kind you can buy at the mall, so I decided to make my own mini version. Here they are… Hope you like them. And just a hint for you moms and dads out there: If you make these for your kids, they will love you forever!!!!
P.S. My helper today was my little brother Rylee!
ENJOY!
Cheesy Pretzels – Betty Crocker Kids Cook! Cookbook at Amazon
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 Tbsps. butter, softened
2 tsps baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk
Preparation:
Heat oven to 400.
In large bowl combine flour, cheese, butter, baking powder, sugar, salt, and milk. Stir until you have soft dough. Sprinkle flour on counter top and put dough on top. Divide dough in half and knead each half around 10 times. Divide each half into 8 pieces and then roll each piece into a rope. Shape into a pretzel, place on cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray and pinch ends to seal. Beat one egg in small bowl and then brush on top of each pretzel piece. Sprinkle salt over brushed egg.
Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Voila!
