Stovetop macaroni and cheese, oh how I love thee. My love affair started at such a young age with the boxed elbow noodles and then moved on to the shells. It’s such an easy food to whip up and the possibilities are endless on cheeses, noodles, toppings and mix-ins.
Today I’m indulging this mac and cheese recipe with a little bit of brownie brittle.
Say what?
People are loving my savory recipes like crab cakes and spice rub for steaks so of course I needed a side dish to compliment the others. At first I was very weary of what the taste would be like with my beloved cheese and noodles.
This stovetop macaroni and cheese is such a simple recipe and its perfect for kids and adults. The addition of Brownie Brittle is not overpowering and just adds a little subtle flavor to the overall dish. Plus you can’t beat a good side dish recipe that only take about 13 minutes from start to finish. So don’t be scared to try out new dishes or experiment with items that you have in your pantry. You will be amazed at what you can come up with for your family.
ENJOY ~ Meagan
Cook the noodles according to package instructions for al dente. Drain the noodles and stir in milk, cheeses, butter and brownie brittle. Stir until everything has melted.
Top with parsley for garnish.

Disclosure: I have a working relationship with Brownie Brittle. All opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that I love.
Don’t forget to check out my other Brownie Brittle creations!
Anyone who incorporates brownie brittle into the main dish is my hero. Pinned!
Very interesting! I’d be willing to try it (wouldn’t admit to hubby what I did though lol). I have not had that brownie brittle before, but it sounds wonderful!
An interesting twist!!
I was NOT expecting that – what an intriguing use of brownie brittle! And yeah, I totally want to try it.
What a fun combination! I am completely obsessed with mac and cheese and constantly looking for ways to change it up. But I never would have added Brownie Brittle! Brilliant!
How fun! I seriously did a double-take when I saw the title of this recipe! What a really creative twist on a beloved comfort food favorite! 😀
Well I am very impressed! This is such a creative use of Brownie Brittle and something I definitely would have never thought of. I’m saving this recipe to try. Love it! P.S.- I’m a huge fan of Brownie Brittle. I think it should be in everything. 🙂
Well I do love me some mac and cheese and brownies, so I can’t imagine why I wouldn’t love the two combined! This looks so creamy and delicious!
Wow this is like an ideal winter supper, two of my favorites!!!!!!!!!!
I had to read it twice to make sure I got this straight… now my wheels are turning and I”m dying to give it a try!
First of all, packaged brownie brittle is a thing? I’ve never heard of this, and I’m quite sad I haven’t. Secondly, I immediately thought you were a little nuts when I read the title of this post, but as I continued to read, I think you may have changed my mind. I’ll have to give it a try and find out!
Wow! I never would have thought to combine these flavors. I love both separately of course… But I guess why not together?
What an interesting (and delicious) addition the brownie brittle is. This mac and cheese looks divine.
My kids would love this! I love to make macaroni on the stove sometimes as opposed to baking it. It can be much quicker!
I would never have thought to add brownie brittle to mac and cheese – but hey! I guess you can’t knock it til you try it!
What a combo!! You know I can’t turn down mac and cheese – it’s my biggest weakness! And brownie brittle – you mad scientist!!
I could go for all of that right now! everything looks so good.
I love Macaroni and Cheese but I never eat with Brownie Brittle I think is tasty.
the msac n cheese looks so classic but then the brownie brittle twist?? FASCINATING! I’m sooo curious-it looks delish!
Absolutely not expecting the brownie brittle. I’m still in shock. One question, though: why is the oven preheated?
Haha it took a while to perfect this dish with the brownie brittle in it. I took out the oven preheat because it’s all on the stove top. Thanks for the catch.
