Everyone has heard of McCormick whether it is seeing their brand in the store or opening your spice drawer. In fact my drawer is LOADED with all kinds of their spices and sauces. I teamed up with McCormick this summer to showcase some of their NEW McCormick Grill Mates Rubs, Marinades and Seasonings. I love working with brands on something you truly love doing and I love grilling. Most women leave the grilling to their husbands. Yes, my husband likes to grill but I like to cook or grill just as much as he does. Shaun was just as excited as I was to be trying out the new line of products from McCormick.
McCormick has also listed a number of grilling trends to watch out for this Summer. Some of the hot flavors this Summer on the grill are sweet tea, smoked tomato, oregano, pecan wood, white peach, ginger and whiskey. Not sure about you but I have no problem adding whiskey or white peach sangria to my meat and then take a couple of sips while cooking. Some of the trends that you will see are charred fruit drinks, s’more recipes (even a cookbook is being released about s’mores), smoke and spice pairings along with breads on the grill. I do love a good pizza made on the grill. Now I just need to grill some lemons for a fruity charred beverage. My mouth is salivating just thinking about all of these possibilities on the grill.
The spices that I have tried out so far from the new products are the Worcestershire Pub Burger Seasoning Blend and the backyard brick oven seasoning blend that is in the recipe today. Pizza mixed with a burger is pure genius. Not sure about you but these are two food weaknesses of mine and you get both in this one recipe. Preheat the grill to medium heat. Oil down the grates to prevent sticking.
In a medium size bowl add the meat, 1/2 the cheese, seasoning and mix until well blended. Shape into 6 patties.
Place on the grill and cook each pattie 4-6 minutes on each side. Before removing the patties top with pizza sauce and the rest of the cheese.
Remove from grill and place on ciabatta rolls. Add tomato slices and sprinkle with additional seasoning.
